You've been confirmed (or maybe not), you're out of your parents' house and on your own (or maybe not), now what? How do you approach your Catholic faith as an adult? Yesterday you just needed to follow the house rules to stay faithful, but now, YOU'RE the one making the rules for yourself. It's a big responsibility and can feel overwhelming at times and at other times just disappear from your mind altogether. How do you stay engaged and grow now that Youth Group is over? Maybe we can help. Find tips and resources below to keep seeking God as you navigate the late teens and twenties.
Young Adults @ SA/SPX
St. Anthony's and St. Pius X do not currently have a dedicated young adult ministry beyond confirmation. That said, there are some great opportunities here that are quite young-adult-friendly!
Discipleship Group - a great co-ed group if you are interested in getting to know some other active parishioners and participate in service projects and parish life
Men's Bible Study - there is only one bible study for men currently, so that means you! The men's bible study is for all men 18+ or aged 17 and post-confirmation.
Monday Evening Women's Bible Study - while the daytime women's bible studies tend to attract primarily retired women, the evening bible study was created with younger women in mind who work, attend classes, or care for their young children during the daytime hours.
Knights of Columbus - a men's group focused on service, open to all men 18+
Council of Catholic Women - if you'd like to make a difference in the parish and the community, especially if you are free in the afternoons (they meet at 1pm), check out the CCW, open to all women 18+
Traditional and Contemporary Choirs - these groups are open to teens as well as adults who love to sing. If you play an instrument, the Contemporary Choir may be a good fit!
Mass Volunteers - have you ever considered taking a more active role in the celebration of the Mass? We can train you to read at Mass, greet people at the door, distribute communion, help Father as an altar server, and more!
Have another idea for something we should do to help young adults feel more at home in our parish? We'd love to hear it! Use the form below to submit your suggestion or question.
